It all began with the egg: according to Catholic tradition, it was customary to give eggs on Easter Sunday. These gifts marked the end of Lent, during which it was forbidden to eat them. In the 18th century, a new idea of piercing eggs and filling them with chocolate appeared. Chocolate gifts in all shapes and sizes then began to become popular, including eggs, bells, bunnies and hens, to the great delight of all the family!
